Hold on to precious heat during the winter months and improve temperature control in the summer with a VELUX blackout energy blind. The blackout energy blind offers blackout with an extra insulation effect of up to 26% to improve energy-efficiency in your home.

VELUX blackout energy blinds are made from a double-pleated polyester blackout cloth with an aluminium honeycomb interior structure. The cloth material is placed in slim side-rails, made of natural anodised aluminium, to prevent light from shining through the edges. The polyester cords are hidden from view in the double layer of fabric. The blind also features an aluminium coating that improves insulation by keeping heat in during winter and improving overall indoor comfort and temperature.

VELUX blackout energy blinds are available in 12 decorative colours. The sleek design with neat pleats and no visible cords makes the blackout energy blind a perfect and attractive addition to any room.

Combine with other VELUX blinds or shutters
The VELUX blackout energy blinds can also be combined with VELUX awning blinds and roller shutters for additional heat protection. Combine with VELUX insect screens for an insect-free environment – even when your window is open.

All VELUX energy blinds offer a light-tight seal for darkness, but to different degrees depending on the colour of the blind. The darker the colour, the better the block out effect.

VELUX energy blinds run in side channels made of natural anodised aluminium that prevent light from passing in around the edges.

Easy installation with the VELUX Pick&Click!® system

All manually operated interior VELUX blinds are very simple to install thanks to the unique Pick&Click!® system. This means that the majority of VELUX roof windows are fitted with pre-installed brackets to ease installation and help you achieve a perfect fit every time. Simply choose a blind and snap into place and you will have both hands free for the remaining part of the installation. 

In case your roof window, for some reason, doesn't have pre-installed brackets, we always make sure to include these as well when you order a blind. Don't worry, these are easy to install too. The brackets are also available to purchase as a spare part. If you wish to order these, please contact our customer services.
